As the snow melts and spring approaches, Girls on the Run of Spokane County is lacing up for another transformative season of empowering young girls through movement, connection, and social-emotional learning. This spring marks an exciting chapter in our journey as we continue to grow and adapt to better serve our community.
A Decade of Impact
For over ten years, Girls on the Run has been a proud partner of Spokane Public Schools, touching the lives of countless girls through our evidence-based program that combines physical activity with crucial life skills development. Our commitment to fostering confidence, kindness, and strength in every participant remains unwavering as we enter 2025.
Program Updates for Spring 2025
This season, which kicks off the week after spring break on April 14th, brings some important updates to our program structure. In alignment with other school districts and youth development programs, we are implementing a program fee of $200 for participants within Spokane Public Schools. This comprehensive fee covers:
- Eight weeks of transformative programming
- Twice-weekly practices (60-90 minutes each)
- Healthy snacks at every practice
- Program t-shirt
- Entry to our Celebratory 5K event (May 31st)
- Running shoes for participants who need them
- Trained, dedicated coaches
- Evidence-based curriculum materials
Commitment to Accessibility
While we're introducing this program fee, our foundational belief that every girl deserves access to Girls on the Run remains stronger than ever. We offer financial assistance through a sliding scale based on household income, and no girl will ever be turned away due to inability to pay. Participants who qualify for free programming will continue to receive full access to all program benefits at no cost.
Looking Ahead
The enthusiasm for social-emotional learning and quality after-school programming continues to grow, and we're excited to meet this moment. Our spring season will culminate in our inspiring Celebratory 5K on May 31st, where our girls will experience the joy and pride of achieving their goals alongside their teammates, coaches, and running buddies.

Whether you're a returning participant or new to Girls on the Run, we invite you to be part of our vibrant community this spring. Our trained coaches are ready to inspire and guide our participants through another season of growth, friendship, and achievement.
